Samsung issues update to all UK Galaxy owners ahead of emergency test tomorrow

Samsung has just released an important update to all of its Galaxy phone users ahead of a planned Emergency Alert Test tomorrow. The warning has been issued due to the UK government trialing its warning system which is being put in place to alert UK residents of life threatening emergencies such as storms, flooding and wild fires.

“Samsung Electronics are letting our customers know that the UK government is testing the Emergency Alerts system on Sunday 7 September 2025 at 3pm,” Samsung explained.

“Your mobile phone or tablet will vibrate and make a loud siren-like sound, even if it is set on silent.

“The alert message will confirm this is a test and that you do not need to take any further action.”

It’s not just Samsung device that will blare out a loud sound with all compatible Android and iPhone devices also making a noise at 3pm tomorrow.

You can opt out of the Emergency Alerts, including the national test, but the advice is simple – you should keep them switched on for your own safety.

This isn’t the first time this system has been tested. The first alert was pushed out back in 2023. However, some phone users – using the Three network – didn’t receive the message. That’s something the UK government is trying to resolve this time around.
