As India gear up for their five-match Test series against England, a wholesome moment between two rising stars – Sai Sudharsan and Washington Sundar – has caught the attention of fans.In a video posted by the BCCI, Sai Sudharsan opened up about the profound influence Washington Sundar has had on his cricketing journey. Reflecting on their shared roots in Chennai, Sai recalled, “I’ve played a few games against him, and it’s always been special. I’ve looked up to him a lot. The way he rose quickly and played for India really inspired me. Watching him do well in the IPL and then represent the country made me feel like I wanted to follow the same path.” A visibly moved Washington responded with a smile, saying “God bless you,” before adding more seriously, “He’s told me that quite a few times. A lot of my friends and coaches have spoken about his growth. Every year, he’s just gotten better. His work ethic and skill set have been inspirational – not just for Chennai kids, but many others around the world.”
