Your current iPhone could look massively inferior on this date next month

It’s August and that means one thing in tech calendar. There’s not long to wait until Apple reveals its next batch of iPhones. The US technology giant is renowned for launching its new products in September which means there’s only a few weeks to go before a possible reveal takes place.

2025 could be a massive year for Apple’s call makers, with the firm expecting to showcase some big design changes.

Rumours suggest the Pro models will arrive in new colours (not just the usual silver, gold and black) and could get huge a camera bump which expands across the whole rear of the device.

We can also expect them to be faster, smarter, last longer and snap better photos and videos.

Although the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro will be worth watching out for, they might not be the stars of the show.

If the rumors are true, Apple could follow Samsung and launch an iPhone 17 Air this year. As the name suggests, this device looks set to be incredibly slim, making it easier to handle and pop in your pocket.

An iPhone 17 Air could prove hugely popular, and it might just be the device everyone is talking about after the next Apple keynote from its HQ in Cupertino.

So, when will we hear more, and on what date will your current iPhone look inferior?

Apple never reveals anything until closer to the launch date but Express.co.uk has done some detective work and we think all will be unveiled on Tuesday, September 9.

Of course, we could be completely wrong as Apple likes surprises, but that date seems the most likely.

A quick look back at previous launches shows that Apple favours the second week of September and usually opens the doors of its Steve Jobs Theatre at Apple Park in California on Tuesdays to showcase what’s new.

Here are previous launch dates for iPhones

Apple iPhone 16 – Monday, September 9

Apple iPhone 15 – Tuesday, September 12

Apple iPhone 14 – Wednesday, September 7

Apple iPhone 13 – Tuesday, September 14

Apple iPhone 12 – Tuesday, October 13 (Covid year)

Apple iPhone 11 – Tuesday, September 10

If we have got it correct, there’s just over 5 weeks until the news is confirmed.

Apple usually sends out invites to its September launch events in August, so watch this space. We’ll bring you all the latest news as soon as we hear more.
