Vivek Agnihotri Praises Amit Shah’s ‘Rohingya Remark’, It Has The Delhi Files Connection

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, who is busy with The Delhi Files, took to his social media handle to laud Amit Shah for speaking against the Rohingyas in Lok Sabha on Thursday. In his speech, the Home Minister raised the question over the issue of illegal infiltration into India by Rohingyas from Bangladesh and Myanmar. He also asked why the state governments are issuing them Aadhaar cards when they are not citizen of India. He said that they have made the country unsafe and will take strict action against these infiltrators.

This sits well with Vivek Agnihotri, and he shared that he always wondered if anyone would ever raise this question. “Exceptional speech by @AmitShah. When we were making #TheDelhiFiles, I was wondering if someday someone would address this theme. Delighted and worried at the same time,” he wrote.

Helmed by Agnihotri, the movie is jointly produced by Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi. In January, the makers unveiled the teaser, offering a glimpse of the movie. Starring Mithun Chakraborty in the lead, the movie tells untold stories related to the Hindu civilization and its role in shaping modern India. It also explores the Bengal tragedy, uncovering a lesser-known part of India’s past.

The Delhi Files is the third instalment of Vivek Agnihotri’s trilogy, which includes The Tashkent Files (starring Mithun Chakraborty) and The Kashmir Files. The film is being presented by Tej Narayan Agarwal & I Am Buddha Productions and will hit theatres worldwide on August 15.

Vivek Agnihotri is known for making movies that reflect India’s past, including The Vaccine War, The Tashkent Files, The Kashmir Files: Unreported and The Kashmir Files.
