But before the cricketing action kicks off, RCB’s all-rounder Tim David grabbed the spotlight — and not for his batting.With heavy rain drenching the stadium, most players made a quick dash to shelter. Not Tim David. Clad in shorts and undeterred by the downpour, the Australian cricketer dove onto a water-logged cover, turning it into his own personal splash pool. His impromptu rain-swim had everyone in splits, and when he returned to the dressing room soaked and smiling, his teammates greeted him with a round of applause.David has been in top form this season. In 11 matches, he has racked up 186 runs, including a blistering unbeaten 50, averaging a staggering 93 and striking at 194 — making him one of RCB’s most dangerous finishers in IPL 2025.Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bengaluru lead the table with 16 points each from 11 matches. Gujarat, however, sit atop thanks to their superior Net Run Rate (NRR) of +0.793, compared to RCB’s +0.482.Punjab Kings are right on their heels with 15 points, including one no-result, and an NRR of +0.376. Mumbai Indians, with 14 points from 12 matches and the best NRR so far at +1.156, also remain strong contenders.

Delhi Capitals (13 points, +0.362 NRR) are still in the hunt, while Kolkata Knight Riders (11 points from 12 games, +0.193 NRR) need wins and a bit of luck. Lucknow Super Giants (10 points, -0.469 NRR) face a steep climb to break into the top four.Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, and Chennai Super Kings have been knocked out of playoff contention, with poor NRRs sealing their fate.
