The latest social media exchange has brought back memories of Warner’s messy exit from the Hyderabad franchise despite being one of the most successful captains and batters in the team’s history.Warner joined Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014 and quickly became the face of the franchise. Under his captaincy, SRH won their first IPL title in 2016, with Warner playing a huge role both as captain and opener. He also won the Orange Cap three times and remains one of the franchise’s highest run-scorers with more than 4000 runs in 95 matches.Apart from his performances, Warner became hugely popular among fans because of his Telugu reels and strong connection with the “Orange Army”.The relationship between Warner and SRH started falling apart during the 2021 IPL season after the team struggled badly. Warner was removed as captain midway through the tournament and was later dropped from the playing XI completely.Fans also noticed him sitting away from teammates during matches in the UAE leg of the tournament, showing how distant things had become. SRH eventually released him before the 2022 mega auction.
