The ‘best’ phone of the year confirmed but has Android or iPhone come top?


The first batch of tech awards 2025 have just been handed out and it’s good news for Samsung. The Korean technology giant has just been handed “Best Phone” by the expert team at T3, with the Galaxy S25 Ultra grabbing this coveted trophy. That’s probably no surprise with this latest Android phone featuring a an improved design, bigger screen, impressive camera, fast performance and an S Pen which tucks neatly inside its titanium shell.

The S25 Ultra has beaten some stiff competition this year including the top-rated iPhone 16 from Apple and brilliant Pixel 9 from Google.

Along with “Best Phone”, T3’s top panel of judges also handed out a further 82 awards including Product Of The Year (Nintendo Switch 2), Best Electric Car (Maserati GranTurismo Folgore), Best Headphones (Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3) and Best TV (Samsung S95F).

Samsung also grabbed the gong for Brand Of The Year.

Other winners this year include devices from Apple, Nothing, Sonos, Google and Amazon.

Speaking about the awards, T3’s Editor-in-Chief, Mat Gallagher, said: “Each T3 award represents a stamp of authority,both for the brand in recognition of its product’s performance, but also for those looking to make a purchase.
