Slain Osman Hadi's brother appointed to Bangladesh's UK mission

The Muhammad Yunus-led Bangladesh interim govt has appointed slain radical Islamist leader Sharif Osman Hadi’s brother Omar Hadi as second secretary at the Bangladesh assistant high commission in UK’s Birmingham on a contractual basis, days after his sensational allegation that a section of the govt was behind Osman’s murder, reports . Govt sources said there was no existing post of second secretary at the Birmingham mission, and was “automatically created” to “accommodate” Omar. On Thursday, the ministry of public administration issued a notification confirming Omar’s contractual appointment for a three-year term.
