Deepti Sharma, Team India all-rounder, was awarded the best fielder medal in India’s decisive 88-run win against Pakistan at the R Premadasa Stadium on Sunday during the 2025 Women’s World Cup match.Wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh, who won the award in the tournament opener, presented the medal to Deepti. Her direct hit resulted in Muneeba Ali’s run out when the batter’s bat was in the air after initially grounding it.

Deepti contributed to India’s victory with 20 wickets and scored three runs from 45 balls. India posted 247 runs and secured their 12th ODI win against Pakistan by dismissing them for 159.“God is great,” said Deepti in the video posted by bcci.tv on Monday.Despite overall fielding concerns, fielding coach Munish Bali acknowledged strong performances from Deepti, captain Harmanpreet Kaur, and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana.“Shabaash (excellent) girls, well done. Pakistan remains in sixth position without any points.India’s upcoming matches include a face-off with South Africa at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on October 9. They will then meet defending champions Australia at the same venue on October 12.
