A second train has derailed in southeast England in less than 24 hours, with rear carriages coming off the tracks near Wickford in Essex.The incident happened shortly after 2pm local time on Friday, according to British Transport Police. The force said the rear carriages remained upright after derailing.Emergency services, including police, paramedics and firefighters, were sent to the scene. No injuries have been reported.The cause of the derailment was not immediately known.

Second derailment in less than a day

The Essex incident comes less than 24 hours after a passenger train derailed near Lewes in East Sussex on Thursday afternoon.The Southern service came off the tracks shortly before 4pm BST, with at least two carriages reportedly overturning. Eighteen people were injured, including two seriously, according to reports.Emergency crews attended the scene near Lewes station, while the disruption affected services between Haywards Heath and Lewes. The cause of that derailment has not yet been established.
