The Saudi Halal Centre has introduced a new Halal Mark Track to strengthen the Kingdom’s role in the global halal market. By combining halal certification with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, the initiative aims to build more trust in halal products and open up new opportunities for businesses at home and abroad.Working under the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, the Saudi Halal Centre has teamed up with the Halal Product Development Company, owned by the Public Investment Fund, and THIQAH to introduce the Halal Mark Track. This initiative is designed to improve transparency and reliability across the halal ecosystem while advancing sustainability in the sector. The Halal Mark Track takes a comprehensive approach by merging the Kingdom’s approved halal standards with ESG compliance requirements. This alignment ensures that products meeting the criteria not only adhere to strict halal guidelines but also demonstrate commitment to environmental and social responsibility, and sound governance practices. Such integration is expected to strengthen confidence in halal-certified products and enhance their competitiveness in both regional and international markets.Central to the initiative is the collaboration between the Halal Product Development Company and THIQAH, which focuses on creating an advanced system that improves the overall experience for beneficiaries. By applying precise evaluation criteria for products and services, establishments that earn the Halal Mark Track gain greater recognition and credibility. The system also supports manufacturers and service providers in meeting quality and sustainability benchmarks, keeping them aligned with global industry standards.Strategically, the ESG-aligned Halal Mark Track aims to elevate compliance and quality within the halal sector. It provides local and international companies with tools to enhance operational efficiency, tap into export opportunities, and reinforce the Kingdom’s position as a key hub in the worldwide halal industry. By integrating halal standards with sustainability measures, the initiative sets a new benchmark for the sector and highlights Saudi Arabia’s leadership in shaping a future-ready halal market.
