Saudi Arabia has launched the world’s first diabetes command and control center, setting a new global benchmark in digital healthcare. The initiative introduces a proactive, electronic system to track the health indicators of diabetic patients, reflecting the Kingdom’s growing commitment to preventive care and patient empowerment.

Landmark launch at the global health exhibition

Minister of Health and Chairman of the Board of the Health Holding Company, Fahad AlJalajel, inaugurated the diabetes command and control center on Monday during the opening day of the eighth annual Global Health Exhibition at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, north of Riyadh. The announcement drew widespread attention for introducing an innovative model designed to transform how chronic diseases are monitored and managed.

Real time digital monitoring for diabetic patients

The Health Holding Company explained that the center enables continuous and digital monitoring of vital signs for diabetic patients across Saudi Arabia. Through advanced electronic systems, it allows healthcare professionals to track patients’ health indicators in real time, ensuring timely medical support and follow-up. This approach enhances proactive care, reduces the risk of complications, and helps patients manage their conditions with greater stability and confidence.

A milestone in preventive and patient centered care

The launch reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening preventive healthcare and improving quality of life through innovation. The center supports the Saudi Model of Care, which focuses on prevention before treatment and places individuals at the heart of the healthcare process. By empowering patients with continuous monitoring and direct access to medical guidance, the initiative promotes early intervention and better long-term health outcomes.

Advancing digital transformation in healthcare

The diabetes command and control center also represents a major achievement in Saudi Arabia’s digital health transformation. It facilitates easier access to medical services and enables direct communication between doctors and patients, improving response times and overall care efficiency. By integrating technology into chronic disease management, the center strengthens the Kingdom’s healthcare infrastructure and reinforces its position as a leader in digital innovation.
