Ramayana new trailer: Ranbir’s Rama is ‘not God, but man’ in English, Vishnu’s avatar in Hindi | Bollywood News

The second trailer of director Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash as Ravana and Sai Pallavi as Sita, has been released in English and Hindi. While both versions offer a glimpse of the film’s grand visuals and the battle between Rama and Ravana, the Hindi trailer features additional dialogue that expands on Ravana’s powers, Rama’s divine identity and his vow to defeat the king of Lanka. The film is scheduled to release internationally on November 5, 2026.

The English trailer opens with a voiceover describing a time when men walked among gods and evil rose from the darkness. It introduces Yash as Ravana, setting the stage for the arrival of a ruler whose ambition extends beyond his kingdom. Ravana then says, “Before me, every head will bow.”

The trailer then showcases a confrontation between Ravana and Indra, the king of the gods, played by Kunal Kapoor. Indra is seen riding Airavata, his divine elephant, when Ravana attacks and knocks the animal to the ground. The sequence establishes Ravana’s immense power and his willingness to challenge even the gods.

The Hindi trailer adds a significant detail to Ravana’s introduction. Ravana declares that he will become the ruler of all three realms — Dev Lok, Prithvi Lok and Paatal Lok, the realms of the gods, the Earth and the underworld in Hindu mythology. The Hindi version also explains that Ravana gained his power through a vardaan (boon) from Vishnu.

The trailers also differ in how they introduce Rama, played by Ranbir Kapoor. In the English version, a voiceover describes him as “Not a God, but a man — Rama,” presenting him as humanity’s hope. The Hindi trailer, in contrast, identifies Rama as the reincarnation of Vishnu, making his divine identity explicit.

The trailers also differ in how they present Rama’s resolve to defeat Ravana. In the English version, Rama says, “If I don’t stop him, the world will fall.” He also says that if killing Ravana is his destiny, he will do so. The Hindi trailer features the same sentiment but adds that all three realms will witness Ravana’s death. Rama also declares that wherever Lanka may be, he will find it, a line that does not appear in the English trailer.

Both versions feature glimpses of the film’s large-scale action and visual effects, including Rama battling a giant creature in a forest with his bow and arrows.
