Rachin Ravindra equals Sourav Ganguly’s big ICC Champions Trophy record

NEW DELHI: New Zealand star batter Rachin Ravindra has etched his name in the history books of the ICC Champions Trophy by equalling a massive record held by former Team India skipper Sourav Ganguly.
The New Zealand batter’s spectacular century against South Africa in the second semi-final of the 2025 edition placed him among an elite group of players who have scored multiple hundreds in a single Champions Trophy tournament.
Ravindra’s remarkable form in the tournament saw him notch up his second century, making him joint-second on the all-time list for most centuries in a single edition.

The exclusive club is led by West Indies legend Chris Gayle, who smashed three centuries in the 2006 Champions Trophy.
Ravindra now shares the second spot with cricketing greats such as Sourav Ganguly, Saeed Anwar, Herschelle Gibbs, Upul Tharanga, Shane Watson, and Shikhar Dhawan.

Opting to bat first, New Zealand displayed a dominant performance with the bat.
Will Young provided a steady start before Ravindra took control of the innings, crafting a sensational 108 off just 101 balls.

His innings, laced with 13 boundaries, was instrumental in guiding New Zealand to a strong position.
