Liverpool coach Arne Slot was still processing Liverpool’s latest setback at Leeds when Mohamed Salah criticised him and the club’s management in a post-match interaction, raising questions about whether his time at Anfield (home ground of Liverpool FC) is coming to an end.Liverpool, the Premier League champions, are dealing with a poor run of four wins in 15 matches across competitions and now face the possibility of a difficult split with one of their most successful players.Only Ian Rush and Roger Hunt have scored more goals for the club than Salah, who has 250. The forward contributed to two league titles, including last season, when he won multiple individual awards as Slot secured the league in his first year.Salah has now said his relationship with Slot has broken down after being kept on the bench for three straight matches.“I’m very, very disappointed to be fair. I have done so much for this club down the years and especially last season,” Salah told media. “Now I’m sitting on the bench and I don’t know why. It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus. That is how I am feeling. I think it is very clear that someone wanted me to get all of the blame.”Slot had backed Salah through the season despite the 33-year-old struggling for form. Salah has scored five goals in 19 games and has been criticised by pundits for not contributing defensively.Salah and Liverpool were already preparing for a temporary break, with the player set to join Egypt for the Africa Cup of Nations after fixtures against Inter Milan and Brighton this week.Salah suggested the Brighton match could be his last at Anfield.“I’m going to enjoy that game because I don’t know what is going to happen now,” he said.“I will be at Anfield to say goodbye to the fans and go to the Africa cup. I don’t know what is going to happen when I am there.”Liverpool’s inability to hold 2-0 and 3-2 leads against Leeds left them with only two wins from their last 10 league games, dropping to eighth place and ending their hopes of retaining the title.
