Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said he is just a party worker and whatever post or duty BJP will give him, he will fulfil that
“Neither was I Chief Minister contender earlier nor now. I am just a party worker…,” said Madhya Pradesh’s CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan Tuesday.
The statement was made by Chouhan amid speculations on who will be the next Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) retained power in the state in the recently concluded Assembly elections.
“I am just a party worker and whatever post or duty the party will give I will fulfil that,” said Chouhan.
“I consider myself fortunate that I have got an opportunity to work with a leader like Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister said.

He also thanked the people of Madhya Pradesh for voting BJP to power.
“As a member of family, BJP will continue to work for the development of people of Madhya Pradesh,” Chouhan added.
In the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly, the BJP won 163 seats, while the Congress managed to win just 66 seats.
Chouhan is the longest-serving chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, first taking the oath for the state’s top post in 2005.
Considered to one of the most prominent leaders of BJP, Chouhan, in Assembly elections 2023, contested from the Budhni constituency, which has been a stronghold for him since 2006.
He first won from the Budhni constituency in 1990 and was elected as a Member of Parliament for the first time in Lok Sabha from the Vidisha constituency in 1991.
He later won the Budhni constituency seat in 2006 again, retaining his hold on the constituency to date.
