Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Executive Director Anant Ambani on Wednesday dedicated the initial public offering (IPO) of Jio Platforms Limited, a RIL subsidiary, to the nation, saying: “Jio aapne banaya to fulfil your dreams is our dream.”

Addressing the gathering alongside his siblings, Isha and Akash Ambani, Anant said the entire nation had blessed Jio.

“Jio ko poore desh ne duaein di. Maine kaha, ‘Jio mere laal’; Dadi ne kaha, ‘Jug jug Jio’; and friends said, ‘Jio mere yaar’. Jio aapne banaya. To fulfil your dreams is our dream,” said Anant.

Anant said the IPO was fully subscribed within 95 minutes of its launch. He added that demand had surpassed expectations and set records across categories, with the issue attracting bids worth more than Rs 7.5 lakh crore.

Thanking individual and institutional investors in India and abroad, Anant said his heart was overflowing with gratitude.

“The one word for today is gratitude to the millions who believed in Jio and made this day possible. My heart overflows with gratitude. Gratitude to every individual and every institutional investor in India and abroad who made our IPO a blockbuster success,” said Anant.

Likening the bell at the stock exchange to temple bells, Anant said: “Business is puja, and every puja ends with prasad. Today, the bell at the exchange will ring for me like a temple bell because, for me, business is puja, and every puja ends with prasad. Prasad is always shared. Today, Jio is shared with India.”
