NEW DELHI: Arjun Tendulkar finally made his debut for Lucknow Super Giants on Saturday after being handed his maiden LSG cap ahead of the team’s final IPL 2026 league match against Punjab Kings at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.Arjun also got an opportunity to bat and remained unbeaten on five as LSG, after being put into bat by Punjab Kings, posted 196/6 in their 20 overs. LSG captain Rishabh Pant introduced Arjun into the attack immediately after the Powerplay. The young left-arm pacer impressed in his very first over, conceding just four runs and not allowing Shreyas Iyer and Prabhsimran Singh to find the boundary.Arjun also came close to picking up a wicket in the over.He bowled a short delivery to Prabhsimran, who attempted a pull shot. The ball brushed the glove and flew to the left of wicketkeeper Pant. The LSG skipper dived across and managed to get both gloves to the ball, but failed to hold on.Arjun, who had already leapt in celebration, was left disappointed after Pant dropped the catch.Earlier, opener Josh Inglis top-scored for LSG with 72 off 44 balls, hitting nine boundaries and two sixes, while Ayush Badoni smashed 43 off just 18 deliveries during the middle overs.Towards the end, Abdul Samad provided the finishing touches with an unbeaten 37 off 20 balls. For Punjab Kings, leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal (2/25) and Marco Jansen (2/33) were the most successful bowlers.
