IND A vs ENG Lions Live Score, 2nd Unofficial Test: India A aim for early wickets on Day 3

India A vs England Lions Live Score, 2nd Unofficial Test: India A’s bowling attack, particularly pace-bowling all-rounders Shardul Thakur and Nitish Kumar Reddy, failed to impress as England Lions reached 192/3 at the end of Day 2 in the second unofficial Test in Northampton, trailing by 156 runs.

Resuming at 319/7, India A was bowled out for 348 in their first innings, with KL Rahul’s classy 116 being the standout performance.

The England Lions replied strongly, building momentum after losing opener Ben McKinney early to Anshul Kamboj. Tom Haines (54) and Emilio Gay (71) stitched a crucial 94-run partnership, taking advantage of a toothless Indian attack. Both Thakur and Reddy, who are eyeing the pace all-rounder’s role for the upcoming Test series against England, went wicketless in six overs each, despite conditions offering some swing.

Tushar Deshpande broke the Haines-Gay partnership but was costly, while off-spinner Tanush Kotian impressed with his discipline, removing Gay just before stumps. Jordan Cox (31*) and skipper James Rew (0*) were unbeaten when play ended early due to bad light.

Earlier in the day, England Lions cleaned up the remaining three Indian wickets for just 29 runs using the second new ball. The ease with which England batters accumulated runs has left concerns for the Indian selectors regarding their seam-bowling depth. With two days remaining, England Lions will look to close the gap further.

Meanwhile, India A must regroup, especially with Thakur and Reddy failing to seize a crucial opportunity to cement their place in the national setup for the high-profile five-match Test series against England.
