Himesh Reshammiya Reacts To Asha Bhosle’s ‘Slap’ Comment Over His Remark On RD Burman: It Is Justified

Legendary singer Asha Bhosle once got so angry at a comment made by composer Himesh Reshammiya that she even threatened to slap him. Addressing the incident, the Badass Ravikumar star has recently reacted to this matter revealing that he has apologised to the veteran.

Singer-turned-actor Himesh once defended himself by claiming that RD Burman also sang through his nose. However, this remark upset Asha Bhosle, who responded, “If someone says that Burman sahab used to sing through his nose, then he should be slapped.”

In the recent conversation with Radio Nasha, Himesh Reshammiya admitted his mistake, saying, “What Asha Bhosle said was justified, that’s why I have apologised to her.”

Suroor singer explained in the interview why Asha Bhosle became upset and described her reaction. Himesh said, “We were performing live, and everyone was enjoying the songs. However, some people commented that I sing through my nose. Today, I am so successful that I can admit it openly—yes, I sing through my nose, and no one will care.”

He shared that when 5-6 of his songs became hits, some people criticised him, accusing him of singing through his nose. Himesh explained to them that it was actually high-pitch singing, which they misunderstood as nasal.

Addressing this controversy, the singer stated, “In my defence, I said that RD Burman also used to sing through his nose. Asha Bhosle did not like this and said, ‘someone should slap me.’ I should not have said this. I should have simply admitted, ‘yes, I sing through my nose,’ and the matter would have ended.” Asha Bhosle and RD Burman got married in 1980.
