Grok 4.1 Update: Elon Musk’s xAI has rolled out Grok 4.1 for all users globally, the latest version of its artificial intelligence (AI) model. It is a new AI model that dominates industry leaderboards in emotional intelligence and creative writing while slashing factual errors by nearly two-thirds. The update is now accessible to all users via grok.com, X, and mobile apps.
xAI describes this release as a significant leap forward in how AI can think, respond, and engage with people. The upgraded chatbot is now rolling out across grok.com, X, and iOS and Android apps. Grok 4.1 brings several key improvements. It offers enhanced emotional intelligence, allowing for more empathetic, nuanced conversations and a better understanding of subtle user intent. The model is more accurate, with the company claiming that factual errors in real-world queries have dropped by nearly two-thirds, making it more trustworthy. Adding further, Grok 4.1 introduces a new “Thinking” mode for deeper reasoning on complex tasks, along with a faster mode for quick responses. Overall, it provides a more collaborative and engaging conversational experience.
Grok 4.1: Global AI Benchmarks
Elon Musk’s xAI tested Grok 4.1 on LMArena, a well-known benchmark for large language models. In the Text Arena, Grok 4.1 in quasarflux mode achieved the top overall ranking with an Elo score of 1483, beating all non xAI models by 31 points.
Even in its faster non reasoning mode, known as tensor mode, it placed second and scored higher than other models running in full reasoning mode. Grok 4.1 was rolled out after a quiet two week release from November 1 to 14 2025, during which it was gradually introduced to more users across all platforms.

Step 1: Go to grok.com or open x.com and launch the Grok chatbot.
Step 2: On mobile, open the Grok iOS/Android app — or open the X iOS/Android app to access Grok there.
Step 3: Find the model selector (usually in the chat interface or settings).
Step 4: Pick “Grok 4.1” explicitly, or choose Auto to receive the latest capable version.
The updated Grok 4.1 model is now accessible to all xAI users on grok.com, X, and the Grok mobile apps for iOS and Android.
