Firing at Kapil Sharma’s cafe linked to Salman’s invite: Bishnoi

An audio recording has surfaced in which a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claims that comedian Kapil Sharma’s restaurant in Canada was targeted because Sharma had invited actor Salman Khan to its inauguration. The audio clip, exclusively accessed by India Today, was recorded by a gangster identified as Harry Boxer.

In the audio, Boxer issued a stark warning, stating that any director, producer, or artist who works with Salman Khan will be shot. “The first and now second firing at Kapil Sharma’s restaurant happened because he had invited Salman Khan to the inauguration on a Netflix show,” the gangster is heard saying. Salman Khan was the guest on the first episode of the third season of “The Great Indian Kapil Show,” which premiered on Netflix on June 21.

Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently in jail, has a long-standing vendetta against Salman Khan stemming from the actor’s alleged involvement in the 1998 blackbuck killing case. The blackbuck is an animal revered by the Bishnoi community.

Boxer further escalated the threat, warning that anyone collaborating with Salman would be held responsible for their own death. “If anyone works with Salman, whether a small-time actor or a small-time director, we will not spare anyone. We will kill them. We will go to any extent necessary to kill them,” he said.

This is the second time in less than a month that Kapil Sharma’s ‘Kap’s Cafe’ in Surrey, Canada, has come under attack. On Thursday, the restaurant was hit by gunfire, with at least 25 shots fired, which shattered windows. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

A member of the Bishnoi gang, Goldy Dhillon, who is wanted by both the Punjab Police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA), claimed responsibility for the recent firing in a social media post. According to security agency sources, Dhillon is believed to be currently residing in Germany and has multiple cases of extortion and murder registered against him in Punjab.

The same restaurant was also targeted on July 10. For that attack, Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operative Harjit Singh Laddi, one of India’s most wanted fugitives, had claimed responsibility. Laddi’s motive for the first attack was reportedly based on alleged derogatory remarks made by Kapil Sharma about Nihang Sikhs.
