NEW DELHI: Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi was involved in a heated exchange with South Africa’s Matthew Breetzke during the third match of the tri-series at the National Stadium in Karachi on Wednesday.
South Africa captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and opted to bat first. After Afridi provided an early breakthrough by dismissing Tony de Zorzi for 22, Bavuma (82 off 96) and Breetzke frustrated the Pakistan bowlers with a solid 119-run partnership.

Tensions boiled over in the 29th over when Breetzke, after denying a single, made a gesture as if to swing his bat toward a Pakistan fielder, which visibly annoyed Afridi.
The fiery pacer immediately walked over to confront the Proteas batter.

Later in the same over, Afridi appeared to obstruct Breetzke’s path while he was running a single.

The two players then exchanged intense glares and words before the on-field umpire stepped in to diffuse the situation.
