A strange moment created confusion and controversy at the toss ahead of the Rajasthan Royals versus Gujarat Titans clash after the coin flip had to be conducted twice. Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag had made the call during the first toss, but match referee Prakash Bhatt stated that the call was not heard clearly enough. With uncertainty over the original call, the officials decided to redo the toss altogether. The second toss once again went Rajasthan Royals’ way, with Parag winning it before opting to bat first on the same surface that hosted the Eliminator earlier in the tournament. The incident immediately became a talking point because of the importance of the toss on a used pitch expected to slow down significantly during the second innings. Interestingly, Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill later admitted his side would also have preferred to bat first. “We would have batted first as well. Forty overs of cricket already on this wicket and it won’t behave differently,” Gill said after the toss. Parag, meanwhile, backed Rajasthan’s decision to put runs on the board first. “We will bat first. Pretty much the same wicket, but I think it slows down at the backend, and we have the bowlers for it,” Parag said. With conditions expected to get tougher for batting later in the game, the unusual re-toss only added extra drama before the high-stakes encounter.Teams:Gujarat Titans (Playing XI): Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill(c), Jos Buttler(w), Nishant Sindhu, Washington Sundar, Jason Holder, Rashid Khan, Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore, Kagiso Rabada, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed SirajRajasthan Royals (Playing XI): Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel(w), Riyan Parag(c), Donovan Ferreira, Dasun Shanaka, Ravindra Jadeja, Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, Brijesh Sharma, Yash Raj Punja
