David Warner’s Charges ₹3.5 Crore For 3-Minute Cameo In Robinhood, Outmatches His IPL Season Earnings

David Warner is making his acting debut in the Telugu film Robinhood, also starring Sreeleela and Nithiin. The comedy actioner has opened to mixed reviews but is expected to do well during its initial run at the box office. Another factor that is expected to provide a boost to the film’s collection is Warner’s association with the project. He is reportedly in a cameo role, the duration of which is under five minutes.

Reportedly, Warner has charged around ₹2.5 crore for his small role in the Telugu movie. Additionally, he has been paid ₹1 crore for promotions of the film, taking his total remuneration from the project to ₹3.5 crore. A source stated that he shot his portion in the movie last year during IPL 2024. David also flew to India to participate in the film’s promotions in Hyderabad recently. He attended the pre-release events and grooved with lead actors on the stage. He also recreated the Srivalli hook step, once again showcasing his love for Pushpa.

However, Warner’s movie role and his paycheck for it has sparked comparisons with his IPL earnings for a season. As per media reports, the Aussie cricketer took home ₹12.5 crore per season during his peak years, from 2019 to 2021 from the cricket league. Warner commenced his IPL journey at the Delhi franchise in 2009, and after 13 years moved to Sunrisers Hyderabad.

On pro rata basis, Warner earned more in his Tollywood debut than he did during a singular season of the IPL. Meanwhile, Robinhood is director Venky Kudumula’s third film after Chalo, released in 2018, and Bheeshma, released in 2020, which also starred Nithiin.
