A serious legal fight has now started, and it is pulling big names into the spotlight. Brian Harpole, who once handled security for Charlie Kirk, has filed a defamation lawsuit against Candace Owens. The case is about claims Owens made after Kirk’s killing. According to the complaint, she accused Harpole of being linked to the incident through her podcast and social media posts. The lawsuit was shared publicly by Harpole’s lawyer, Matt Sarelson, on X. It clearly says Harpole and his company had no role in the killing. It also says they had no prior knowledge and were not negligent in any way. Still, Owens continued to speak about a possible conspiracy, which is now the center of this legal dispute.

Brian Harpole says Candace Owens spread false claims about Charlie Kirk case despite records showing otherwise

The complaint explains how things started. Soon after Charlie Kirk’s death, Owens began sharing theories online. She suggested that people close to him may have betrayed him. She also spoke about a possible government cover-up. Over time, those claims became more direct. Harpole says Owens began pointing at him.In a December 9, 2025 podcast episode, Owens told her audience, “Well, what I’m about to tell you guys today is going to positively blow your mind.” She said she had received a “credible” tip from someone she later identified as Mitch Snow. This person claimed Harpole was seen at a meeting with military officials one day before the killing. But the lawsuit strongly rejects this. It states Harpole was in Dallas, Texas at that time. His travel records support this. It also says he has never been to Fort Huachuca at all. Despite this, Owens kept repeating the claim. She said the tip was “very credible,” but did not explain why.The situation grew more tense when Owens reached out to Harpole directly. She asked him for a private conversation. When he did not reply, she spoke about his silence on her podcast. She suggested it looked suspicious. The lawsuit says this made things worse and damaged his reputation further. One key detail stands out. Owens later posted on X that she had already seen Harpole’s flight records. This is important because it shows she may have known he was not at that meeting. Even then, she continued to speak about the claim. Harpole’s legal team says this shows “reckless disregard for the truth,” which is a major part of defamation law. Now, the case includes six legal counts and seeks damages worth millions. A jury trial has been requested. Owens, on her show, has tried to step back from some of the claims and suggested her source may have been wrong. For now, the court will decide what really happened behind these claims.
