Bhajan Lal Sharma’s name for the post of Rajasthan Chief Minister was decided during a meeting held at the BJP office in the presence of the party’s three central observers led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

The BJP has picked first-time MLA Bhajan Lal Sharma as the new chief minister of Rajasthan. He is an MLA from Sanganer.

Bhajan Lal Sharma, a Brahmin, and a first-time is a long time BJP worker. He was party’s general secretary of the state of Rajasthan.

Bhajan Lal Sharma’s name has been elected as the legislature party’s leader and will be the chief minister of Rajasthan, following the BJP’s victory in the recent assembly elections.

Addressing the media, Rajnath Singh said the legislature party meeting of the Rajasthan BJP was held on Tuesday. Former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje has proposed the name of Bhajanlal Sharma as the leader of legislative party, which was agreed upon unanimously.

Bhajan Lal Sharma, 56, is the first time MLA from Sanganer, a Brahmin-dominated seat in Jaipur, Rajasthan. He was given a safe seat.

Sharma belongs to Bharatpur but was given a ticket from Sanganer after denying a ticket to sitting MLA Ashok Lahoty.

He is the longest serving General Secretary in Rajasthan BJP and he belong to Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP)

Bhajan Lal Sharma will have two deputies, Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa.

Rajasthan Assembly Speaker

Vasudev Devnani will be the Speaker of Rajasthan Assembly, Rajnath Singh announced.

Earlier on Tuesday, a meeting was held at the BJP office in the presence of the party’s three central observers led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The two other observers are Vinod Tawde and Saroj Pandey.

The BJP defeated the incumbent Congress government to with the Rajasthan Assembly election 2023.

Of the total 200 seats in Rajasthan Assembly, polling was held for 199 of which the BJP bagged 115, while Congress got only 69.
