Awarapan 2 vs Batwara 1947 Day 1 Advance Booking: Emraan Hashmi and Sunny Deol’s films are all set to clash at the box office in India on August 14. Seeing the pace of collection, it seems, Awarapan 2 is going to win the advance booking battle from Batwara 1947.
According to Sacnilk, the film has so far sold 122114 tickets across 6746 shows in India, earning ₹3.84 crore. The maximum has been earned in Delhi (₹87.61 lakh). Seeing the pace of collection, it seems the film is going to make a good start at the box office.
Helmed by Nitin Kakkar, the film is produced by Vishesh Bhatt under the banner of Vishesh Films. Apart from Emraan, the film also stars Disha Patani, Puran Gabbi and Shabana Azmi.
Given the hype around the film, it is performing poorly in the advance sales. The movie has so far sold 34246 tickets across 6712 shows, collecting only ₹95.09 lakh. The film has collected maximum in Delhi (₹24.77 lakh).
Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced under Aamir Khan Productions, the film also stars Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and Abhimanyu Singh in pivotal roles. The plot is set against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition. The film follows a family whose lives are irrevocably altered as violence, fear and forced migration tear apart communities that once lived side by side. Its music is composed by AR Rahman, while the lyrics are penned by Javed Akhtar.
The film will clash with the Independence Day weekend, which will give the film a boost of holidays at the box office.
