Sky Q might be over 10 years old, but it’s still loved by the millions of homes that have it installed in their living rooms. It’s probably no surprise that it remains so popular, as it offers an array of features, including recommendations for things to watch, full voice controls, and endless channels to tune into. However, perhaps the best thing about Sky Q is its ability to record shows and movies onto its in-built hard drive.
That means favourite content is there to keep until the delete button is pressed. Despite Sky trying to push more customers to its Glass and Stream boxes, Sky Q is still on sale and costs £32 per month.
If that sounds too pricey, there is another option and, which offers some of the upgrades you’ll find on Q.
The Manhattan T4-R is a relatively new set-top box that comes with plenty of storage tucked under its shell. That means users can users can record over 1,100 hours of telly without ever running low.
It also allows homes to record two shows while watching a third, and there are a further 60,000 hours of content available via its on-demand access.
Other extras include a speedy processor, full 4K visuals and a neat remote with fast access to favourite channels.
It’s also fully powered by Freeview, which means there are no extra fees once the box is purchased. It comes in two hard drive sizes, with prices starting from £169.99 for the smaller 1TB option.
Now, to make this box a little more enticing, it’s cost has just been dropped with Argos boasting that the bigger 2TB Manhattan T4-R is now at its lowest ever price.
That means homes just need to pay a one-off fee of £217.
