He said Britain is facing a moment that requires “national resolve” to confront rising extremism. In his Substack post, Starmer further highlighted the severity of the threat, stating that antisemitism is “here, real, and growing” and warning that the country is at a “tipping point” amid global instability spilling into domestic tensions. He said Britain must choose between unity and division, requesting citizens to reject “politics of grievance.”He linked the domestic security challenge to wider international conflicts, arguing that global crises are increasingly impacting communities in the UK. The Prime Minister also said his government is reviewing whether current law enforcement powers are sufficient to deal with evolving threats and hate crimes.Starmer outlined a broader vision for a “stronger Britain,” focused on security, resilience and economic stability, while emphasising the need for a united national response to rising extremism. This comes amid heightened concern after the Golders Green stabbing and other incidents targeting Jewish-linked sites.Earlier incidents included attacks on ambulances linked to Jewish emergency volunteers and suspected arson at community memorial sites, which increased anxiety among residents.According to the Community Security Trust, nearly 3,700 antisemitic incidents were recorded last year, more than double the previous year’s figures.Officials have also warned that some individuals may be influenced or supported by hostile foreign actors.
