Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic have ended their coaching partnership after six months, they announced on Tuesday. The unexpected collaboration between the former rivals began in November when the Serb hired the retired Briton, who had no prior coaching experience.The split follows Djokovic’s challenging start to the 2025 season, including first-match losses in his last two tournaments. The partnership initially showed promise when Djokovic defeated Carlos Alcaraz at the Australian Open. However, he later retired due to injury during his semi-final match against Alexander Zverev.“Thank you, coach Andy, for all the hard work, fun and support over last six months on and off the court, really enjoyed deepening our friendship together,” Djokovic said.Murray, who had previously faced Djokovic as a competitor, had notably defeated him in both the 2012 US Open and 2013 Wimbledon finals to secure two of his three Grand Slam titles.
