Dario, Altman & Musk: AI devpt needs to slow down

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, backed Amodei, posting on X, “I agree with Dario we need to pace the frontier. This has been a primary topic of discussions we’ve had at OpenAI in recent weeks. Committing to having independent evaluators with employee-like access is a great idea, and we’ll do the same.” Tesla boss Elon Musk also endorsed his suggestion: “Dario is right.”Amodei also offered a plan to raise checks on the industry, one part of which he said Anthropic is undertaking by itself already. Others will require coordination among the industry and with govts.
