Kalpana Raghavendar Shares First Video Amid Suicide Attempt Rumours, Clarifies ‘I Have No Personal Issues’

Kalpana Raghavendar has been in the news after it was suspected that she tried to die by suicide over family issues. She was rushed to hospital a few days ago after being found unconscious in her residence in Hyderabad. Earlier, her daughter Daya Prasad Prabhakar clarified that her mother didn’t attempt suicide and stated she accidentally overdosed on insomnia tablets. Now, the singer herself has released a video issuing a clarification and rubbished the reports of overdosing on tablets due to family issues.

In a video going viral on the internet, Kalpana made it clear that she was saved only because of the timely efforts of her husband Prasad Prabhakar. “There is a wrong piece of information which is being circulated in the media about me and my husband. I am putting out this video to provide clarity on the issue,” she said.

She continued that at the age of 45, she is studying Ph.D, and LLB, trying different types of concerts and because of all this, she got stressed and was unable to sleep. Stating that she had been struggling for several nights, unable to sleep, Kalpana said she chose to go to a doctor for the treatment of insomnia. “He(the doctor) prescribed certain drugs for me. On that particular day, the dosage I took of a certain prescribed drug was slightly more. As a result, I became unconscious,” she said, rubbishing reports that claimed that she had attempted suicide.

She further clarified, “The only reason I am sitting before you and talking is because of the efforts of my husband. At the right time, he took the help of the police. He immediately informed them and the media. They really rescued me is what I should say. Please don’t trust any wrong news. There are no personal issues between us. By God’s grace, the best thing that has happened to me is my husband Prasad Prabhakar. I am so blessed to have him in my life. The next best thing is my daughter Daya Prasad.”

While concluding the video, she again reassured her well-wishers that she has no personal issues and by god’s grace she is happy and her family is also well. She thanked fans, media and police for showing support and stated that owing to her health she will take some time to return to normalcy. “I shall be there to entertain you all with my singing,” the singer signed off.
