Exclusive Videos | Panic Ensues On Tenali Rama Set After Huge Fire In Film City Forest, Crew Fights Thick Smoke Clouds

On Sunday, the set of SAB TV show Tenali Rama in Mumbai’s Film City in Goregaon caught fire. However, Republic confirmed that the fire was lit in the forest area adjacent to the set and the flames did not enter the premises where the shooting was ongoing. Videos obtained from the ground show the massive flames engulfing the forest area near the set and the heavy smoke caused by the fire.

In the clips, panicked crew members can be seen trying to scurry and look for anything like water, mud, fire extinguisher, clothes etc, to douse the fire. Before the fire brigade arrived, the Tenali Rama team stepped up and did not let flames enter the set area and set the property on fire.

Earlier, in an interview with Republic, actor Sohit Vijay Soni, who plays the role of Mani in the show and was present on set on Sunday, March 2 when the fire broke out in the area, revealed the timeline of events from 12 pm to 4 pm, when the shoot finally resumed.

Actor Sohit Vijay Soni debunked rumours that the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction and shared that it started in the forest area nearby the set.

“The fire that was lit in the forest was getting intense and had reached the set. Every artist had left the set but I came back and helped with dousing the flames. The market area of the set was in the open. The back part of the area is covered as the jungle portion of the film city is right behind it. The fire that was rising in the jungle was slowly engulfing everything. Had it not been doused at the right time and if anything from the property had caught the flames, then the whole set would have been in danger. It was a big fire,” Sohit Vijay Soni, who has also appeared in the popular comedy show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain and is currently part of Tenali Rama, shared.
