Dragon X Review: Pradeep Ranganthan Starrer Earns Mixed Reactions, Netizens Call It ‘Slightly Exaggerated’



Tamil star Pradeep Ranganathan starrer Dragon finally hit the big screens today, ie, on February 20. The coming-of-age comedy drama has opened to mixed reviews from audience and critics as well. 

The romance-comedy film has garnered mixed reactions and one user wrote, “#Dragon squanders a promising concept brimming with dramatic potential due to shallow writing that delivers lifeless scenes and characters. A few crowd-pleasing moments and songs are its only redeeming qualities. At 157 minutes, the runtime drags on like an endless week. A disappointingly subpar effort.”

Dragon is helmed by Ashwath Marimuthu and produced by AGS Entertainment. According to a report in Sacnilk, on first day it has collected ₹2.02 crore. The highest occupancy has been recorded in Trichy (62%) followed by Chennai (53.50%), Coimbatore (45.50%), Pondicherry (38.50%).

Apart from Pradeep Ranganathan, the Tamil language film also stars Anupama Parameswaran and Kayudu Lohar, George Maryan, Indumathy Manikandan, Gautham Vasudev Menon and KS Ravikumar among others. Principal photography began with first schedule on 5 May 2024 with an inaugural puja at a film city in Chennai on the day before.[On 4 October, the director confirmed that the filming has entered into its last schedule.

It tells the story of troubled student Ragavan abandons his studies and enters the dangerous world of financial fraud, pursuing wealth and power while becoming entangled in escalating deception.
