Even before the Indian cricket team landed on English shores, the one name that has dominated conversations is Jasprit Bumrah. From his menacing bowling to his workload management, the Indian spearhead has been the talk of the series.Bumrah has played two Tests in this series and picked up 12 wickets so far.

Although Bumrah is the face of the Indian bowling attack, assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has showered praise on Mohammed Siraj, calling him a “lion.”Siraj has played all three Test matches and has taken 14 wickets. The numbers don’t do justice to the way the 31-year-old has bowled in the last two Tests—he has bowled his heart out.“Let’s first start with Siraj before we talk about Bumrah. I think we sort of take for granted how lucky we are to have someone like that,” said ten Doeschate.“I know he doesn’t always have the returns you expect from a fast bowler. But in terms of heart, he’s like a lion.“And what he brings to this bowling attack—whenever he has the ball in hand—you always feel like something’s going to happen.“He’s not someone who’s going to shy away from the workload. So it becomes even more important for us to manage his workload and ensure that he’s at least fit enough to give his best.”
