Yuzvendra Chahal Has A ‘Message’ For Ex-Wife Dhanashree Verma After Court Grants Them Divorce, Internet Is Divided

Dhanashree Verma and cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal were granted divorce by a family court in Bandra, Mumbai on Thursday, March 20. Chahal and Dhanashree got married in December 2020. As per their petition, they separated in June 2022. On February 5 this year, they filed a joint petition before the family court seeking divorce by mutual consent. Separation was granted to them after the six-month cooling period stipulated for every couple after filing of the divorce plea under the Hindu Marriage Act was waived off.

Reportedly, Chahal will also pay his ex-wife Dhanashree alimony amounting to ₹4.75 crore. This is contrary to claims that she demanded ₹60 crore post separation. According to Instant Bollywood, Chahal has already paid ₹2.37 crore and ₹2.28 crore of the agreed alimony amount remains.

At the divorce proceedings, Chahal’s look grabbed eyeballs. He was snapped wearing a black colored T-shirt with a caption that read, “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy”, leading to speculation whether he was standing Dhanashree. On the other hand, the latter was snapped outside the Bandra court in a white T-shirt and blue denim.

After Chahal’s T-shirt with the controversial caption grabbed attention, the internet was soon flooded with reactions. It appeared as if Chahal was hiding the T-shirt and the caption on it behind his hoodie when he was snapped arriving at his divorce proceedings. After the hearing and granting of divorce, he took off the jacket and revealed his T-shirt. “He literally wore that T-shirt,” a comment read. Another social media user wrote, “Bas kar bhai, move on bhi ho gya dono ka (sic).”

Some even went to the extent of calling Dhanshree a “gold digger” for demanding alimony despite being a successful social media influencer and an internet personality. Some came to her defense and shielded her from toxic comments on Instagram.
