Your Fire TV Stick and Sky box gets free upgrade this month – here’s what’s new

Just in time for the school summer holidays, a new service is launching aimed at both parents and kids. The fitness team at Mvmnt – who already offer online workouts – has just confirmed a new service called Mvmnt Family, which does exactly what it says on the tin. This exercise app is now available on devices such as the Fire TV Stick and Sky tellies, offering ways for the family to stay active during the summer break.

There are 7-minute workouts led by a fitness coach with children also appearing onscreen as well. The idea is that this makes it easy for parents and kids to follow along together from the comfort of there homes.

Mvmnt says that its new family-based sessions span a broad range of modalities, from strength, yoga, HIIT, football skills and balance.

And the best part? For new Mvmnt members, it’s completely free for all of August.

There’s not even any equipment needed, and sessions should be short enough to squeeze in around holiday plans.

The launch comes just as research suggests many parents hit a summer slump.

The latest reports say that 46 percent of parents run out of active ideas by mid-August, and 27 percent of families only do something active together just once a week or less.

It’s worth a try if you have a set-top box, Sky Glass TV, or Fire TV Stick, although you will have to pay a £14.99 monthly fee once the freebie ends.

Luckily, if you sign up today and cancel before the end of August, you won’t pay a penny.

“We wanted to create something simple, fun, and accessible that helps families stay active together,” said Rory Knight, Coach and Director of Fitness at Mvmnt

“By bringing Mvmnt Family to millions of living rooms, we’re making fitness something parents and kids can easily do side by side. No setup, no stress.”

How to access Mvmnt on Amazon Fire, Google TV and Sky:

Amazon Fire, and Google TV customers can access Mvmnt via ‘Apps’ on their device. Sky customers can also head to the ‘Apps’ section on Sky Live, Sky Stream, Sky Q and Sky Glass to find Mvmnt.

Search for Mvmnt, and start a free 7-minute family session straight from their TV. New users can sign up for a free month in-app or at www.mvmnt.com.

Don’t forget, once the freebie ends you’ll pay £14.99.
