Social media users flooding Rishi Sunak’s Instagram post with ‘come back’ messages.

As Labour has reached its lowest approval rating for this parliament, according to a new poll, former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s Instagram posts are now flooded with ‘come back’ messages. Rishi Sunak remains a Conservative member of parliament but has remained largely out of the spotlight since resigning as leader of the Conservatives in July last year. He has now joined Goldman Sachs, where he also worked before, as a senior adviser. Rishi Sunak attended the Wensleydale Show last week and posted photos from the event on Instagram. The comments on the post are going viral, as most of them had a common link, urging Sunak to come back. “Come back Rishi”, “You were right all along”, “UK needs you” — the messages read. “Where are those people claiming he would go off to California after the election. The man is still doing amazing work for his constituents, and all his warnings about Labour have come true,” one wrote. “You miss the sun when it starts to snow,” one wrote. A fresh YouGov poll showed PM Sir Keir Starmer’s party is currently on 20% of the vote, which is the lowest level since last year’s general election and just three points ahead of the Conservatives on 17% of the vote. The lead is held by Nigel Farage’s Reform UK with 28% of the vote. Starmer is facing internal challenges in the party as Reform UK is gaining strength. Even Labour MPs have suggested that Starmer may have to go if Labour performs badly in next May’s elections across Wales, Scotland and London. Starmer is rebooting his government amid growing criticisms as he replaced Ninjeri Pandit, his principal private secretary — the third top aide he has replaced in less than a year. Another uphill challenge Starmer is facing is the migrants issue, as the number of migrants crossing the English Channel and arriving in the country to seek asylum remains at a record high. The PM promised that migrants arriving in the UK on small boats will be detained and sent back.
