Sharing a picture on Instagram, Gambhir wrote, “Many many happy returns of the day, my dearest… you make life worth it!” The post offered a rare glimpse into the couple’s life, as Natasha turned 41. Despite being deeply involved in team matters, Gambhir’s personal gesture struck a chord with fans and reminded many of the human side of cricket’s intense world. Back on the field, England dominated Day 3. Joe Root stole the headlines with his 38th Test hundred, an elegant 150 that saw him leapfrog Ricky Ponting to become the second-highest scorer in Test history with 13,409 runs. Ben Stokes also remained unbeaten on 77 at stumps. England ended the day at 544 for 7, leading India by 186 runs. Ollie Pope added 71 and shared a 144-run stand with Root, while Washington Sundar briefly brought India back into the game by removing Pope and Harry Brook. But Stokes’ return after a brief injury scare kept England in control. Gambhir, meanwhile, continues to face criticism for India’s struggles. Fans have questioned his team selections and blamed him for the absence of senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. With India trailing in the series, pressure is growing on the head coach to deliver a turnaround.
