The day began with Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisting the tricolour at the Red Fort, assisted by Flying Officer Rashika Sharma. The ceremony was marked by a spectacular shower of flower petals from two Mi-17 helicopters of the Indian Air Force, one carrying the national flag and the other the ‘Operation Sindoor’ flag, piloted by Wing Commanders Vinay Poonia and Aditya Jaiswal.
