Vivo Y19e Brings Water-Resistant Body on a Phone for Under ₹8000

Vivo has launched a new smartphone Y19e in India. The Vivo Y19e is an entry-level phone, but its capability to resist water splashes stands out, thanks to an IP64 rating. Vivo claims its new phone also has military-grade durability, making the Y19e sturdy for most environments. The Vivo Y19e is also claimed to offer its price segment’s biggest battery.

The Y19e costs ₹7,999 for a single variant and comes in Titanium Silver and Majestic Green colours. It goes on sale starting March 20 from Vivo’s online store, Flipkart, and partner retail stores.

Customers with a Jio number or planning to get one will be eligible for a special prepaid recharge pack of ₹449, offering 84GB daily data, unlimited voice calling, 100 daily SMS, and access to JioTV, JioCinema, and JioCloud. They also receive benefits up to ₹5,000, including cashback of ₹50 on the first 40 recharges on the Jio number, EaseMyTrip vouchers worth ₹1,500, Ajio discount vouchers worth ₹1,000, and Netmeds discount of 20 per cent on medicine purchases.

The Y19e boasts a 6.74-inch LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate, which it claims provides efficient power consumption and consistent brightness. Powering the smartphone is an octa-core Unisoc T7225 octa-core processor, paired with 4GB of RAM. Its internal storage of 64GB can be expanded up to 2TB using an external microSD card. The smartphone runs Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14 and packs a 5500mAh battery. It also has a 13MP dual camera setup, while the camera app supports AI-based tools such as AI Erase and AI Enhance, which allow users “to remove unwanted objects effortlessly, providing a seamless and professional touch to their photos.” The Vivo Y19e weighs 199 grams.

Vivo said the Y19e is being fully manufactured at its plant in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
