Udit Narayan Mocks His Viral Kiss Video Addressing The Controversy, Netizens Say ‘He’s Not Even Ashamed Of…’



Udit Narayan had faced extreme backlash for a video that went viral in February. The veteran singer grabbed headlines after he kissed a female fan during a live performance. Now, he has finally addressed the kissing controversy at an event.

At the music launch of an upcoming film Pintu Ki Pappi, Udit addressed the kissing  controversy. In the viral clip shared by Instagram user Viral Bhayani, the Falak Tak singer said, “Veteran singer Udit Narayan addressed kissing controversy at the music launch of the Ganesh Acharya’s Pintu Ki Pappi. The video has since then gone viral”.

He further said, “Yeh bhi ek ittefaq hai ki abhi yeh release hona tha. Vaise do saal purana video hai voh joh aap media mein dekh rahe hai.” Fans flooded the comment section to express their view and one use wrote, “Kya best cover kiya h sir… This is called experience”. Another user wrote, “Udit ji bhi memes enjoy kar rahe hai”. “Shame on some people nowadays..he is not ashamed of his deeds..”, wrote the third user.

In the viral clip, Udit Narayan was seen singing Tip Tip Barsa Paani when a female fan approached the singer near the stage. On seeing her, he  bent down to pose for a selfie. Then she turned around and kissed him. Singer then retuned his fan’s gesture by kissing her on the cheek. Then Udit kissed all the female fans who approached him for a selfie. The Falak Tak singer later clarified saying that this is their way of showing love.

The clip was widely circulated online and the singer clarified that he meant no malice by his actions. A harassment case should be filed against him,” wrote a user on X. Another said Narayan gained so much respect throughout his career and “just one kissing act ruined his image”.

Udit Narayan has won four National Film Awards. The Government of India feted him with the Padma Shri in 2009 and the Padma Bhushan in 2016. He has sung in various other languages including Hindi Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Bengali, Sindhi, Odia, Bhojpuri, Nepali, Malayalam, Assamese, Bagheli and Maithili.
