Mohan Babu Legal Trouble: Over two decades after Sooryavansham actress Soundarya died in a plane crash, a social activist has filed a police complaint against veteran actor Mohan Babu, according to multiple media reports. The complaint has been filed in Andhra Pradesh’s Khammam district demanding a thorough investigation into the accident that killed the actress and her brother Amarnath on April 17, 2004. The complainant alleges that it was not an accidental death but a murder linked to a property dispute with Mohan Babu, per media reports.
Multiple media reports state that the complainant accused the 72-year-old actor that he pressurised Soundarya and her brother to sell their six acres of land in a village situated in Shamshabad. However, they refused, leading to a major conflict between the two parties. It further alleged that after Soundarya’s death, Mohan Babu took hold of the land.
It is yet to be known how the activist is related to Kannada actress Soundarya.
The reports further mention that Soundarya was travelling with her brother to attend a political event. At the time of her death, she was pregnant. Her body couldn’t be recovered from the crash site. She was a popular Kannada actress, who made her Bollywood debut alongside Amitabh Bachchan in Sooryavansham. It was her only Hindi film where she played the role of Big B’s wife Radha Thakur.
Last year, the veteran Telugu actor was embroiled in a property dispute with his younger son Manoj Manchu. The actor alleged that he was beaten by the goons his father had sent and demanded justice. The matter escalated to a level that his elder son Manchu Vishnu had to fly down from Dubai to solve the family quarrel.
