Kargar, who currently heads TVS Motor’s international business, will take charge on January 27, 2027
TVS Motor Company on Friday named Peyman Kargar as its next Director and Chief Executive Officer, succeeding K N Radhakrishnan in a planned leadership transition at one of India’s leading two- and three-wheeler manufacturers.
Kargar, who currently heads the company’s international business, will take charge on January 27, 2027, TVS Motor said in a regulatory filing.
Radhakrishnan will continue as Director and CEO until then. After stepping down from the executive role, he will serve as a non-executive director until the company’s annual general meeting scheduled for July 2027.
Kargar will serve as a whole-time director and key managerial personnel for a five-year term.
A global automotive veteran
Kargar brings more than three decades of experience in the global automotive industry, having held leadership roles across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
Before joining TVS Motor, he was Global Chairman and President of Infiniti, Nissan’s luxury vehicle brand, where he oversaw global operations spanning product planning, research and development, manufacturing, sales, marketing and finance.
He also served as Chairman and Senior Vice President for Nissan’s Africa, Middle East and India region, and was Chief Executive Officer of the Datsun brand, overseeing operations across more than 80 countries.
Earlier, Kargar was Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Renault Group, where he managed operations across 50 countries in Africa, the Middle East, Iran and India.
At TVS Motor, Kargar has led the company’s international business, which has emerged as an increasingly important growth driver. The business now accounts for 29 per cent of the company’s sales volume and is growing at 33 per cent, according to TVS Motor.
His appointment comes as the company looks to build on its overseas expansion, strengthen its presence in premium segments and expand further in developed markets.
