The Diplomat Box Office Collection Day 1: Bumper Opening For John Abraham Starrer On Holi



The Diplomat Box Office Collection: The John Abraham starrer hit the big screens on March 14, coinciding with the festival of Holi. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the movie is based on a real-life incident narrating the ordeal of an Indian girl who fell in love with a Pakistani in Malaysia. There is an attempt to take her to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to sell her off to jihadis in Pakistan. How the Indian government brings her back home, makes the rest of the plot. The film has received a decent opening at the box office.

The Diplomat has opened to a solid start at the box office. The John Abraham starrer has opened to a decent ₹ 4.00 crore, as per Sacnilk. The film is expected to register a substantial growth in the coming weekend.

The Diplomat has also deterred the Chhaava storm at the box office. The Vicky Kaushal starrer has minted ₹ 7.25 Crore on the fifth Friday of release (March 14). The Diplomat has emerged as a solid second choice of cine-goers.

In an exclusive interview with Republic Media Network’s Editor-in-Chief, Arnab Goswami, John Abraham discussed the complexities of real-life rescue missions. He added, Drawing a parallel to Hollywood’s Argo, he described how careful manoeuvring and strategic diplomacy were essential in executing the mission. The Diplomat follows the dramatic rescue of Uzma Ahmed, an Indian woman who claimed she had been abducted and forcibly married in Pakistan.
