Tanushree Dutta Clarifies About ‘Closed’ Sexual Harassment Case Against Nana Patekar, Alleges ‘Dirty PR’ Is At Work

Tanushree Dutta hit back at news reports claiming that Nana Patekar, who has been accused in a #MeToo case by the actress, has scored a legal victory against her. Tanushree stated that Nana has been indulging in PR activities to set the narrative that the sexual harassment case against him (filed in 2018) has been dismissed by the court, but that is not true.

Tanushree filed an FIR in October 2018 over an incident that allegedly occurred on March 23, 2008 while shooting a song on the sets of the film Horn Ok Pleasss. In her complaint, she accused Nana Patekar and three others of harassing and misbehaving with her. The issue hit national headlines and sparked the #MeToo movement on social media. The police, in 2019, filed its final report before a magistrate court stating that its probe did not find anything incriminating against any of the accused (Nana Patekar). The FIR was found to be false, the police further said in its report. In legal terms, such a report is called a B-summary.

Tanushree stated that the rejection of the B-summary is a legal victory for her and now the police will have to file a chargesheet in the case. She stated that Nana’s PR team has been indulging in spreading reports of scoring a “legal victory” in the #MeToo case for years now, and this is just another attempt at it.

She also said that a witness corroborated her #MeToo story through an affidavit filed in court, basis which the court rejected the B-Summary of the police. Tanushree said that her witness was threatened by “unknown men” and power and money are at play here.

She likened the PR machinery used in her case with Justin Baldoni’s alleged smear campaign against Blake Lively in the US. Tanushree also shared that she would like to start a YouTube show about finding hidden cameras in celebrity homes and vanity vans. She claimed that some people record videos of artists and sell them on the dark web to earn money. She alleged that many such videos of late Sushant Singh Rajput have also been found.
