Erstwhile international cricketer Suresh Raina is all ready to begin his Kollywood career. He himself announced his shock acting debut in his X post. Dream Knight Stories, a new production company, posted the teaser clip of Raina’s initial foray into the world of cinema. The film is slated to be titled ‘Production No 1’ and is being directed by Logan, who has worked on ‘Maan Karate’, ‘Remo’, and ‘Gethu’. The teaser was unveiled at a grand function with industry bigwigs in attendance.
The promo reveals a man walking across the cricket ground with people in the crowd whistling and applauding. The scene then moves to side view of Raina from behind. The promo then cuts to the face of the former cricketer turning into an image on a gold coin. Dream Knight Stories posted the promo on its X handle and captioned, “Welcoming Chinna Thala Suresh Raina on board for DKS ‘Production No 1’ (sic).”
Raina is apparently called Chinna Thala by his fans because of his long-term association with the Indian Premiere League (IPL) team Chennai Super Kings. The cricketer turned actor while sharing the video on his X handle wrote, “From cricket fields to Kollywood frames bringing Chennai’s spirit with me. Proud to join this new journey with Dream Knight Stories Private Limited.”

Indian cricketer and Chennai Super Kings big gun Shivam Dube ignited the ceremonial lamp, inaugurating the auspicious start of the production house. Dube expressed his thrill at the launch and sent his best wishes to the director and producer.D Saravanakumar, producer of ‘Production No 1’, previously worked as Production Executive of AGS Entertainment.
The launch event also revealed the talented technical team of the film such as composer Santhosh Narayanan, Director of Photography Sandeep K Vijay, production designer Muthuraj, sound designer Resul Pookutty and action choreographer Supreme Sundar. The event witnessed the presence and warm felicitations of some of the top names in Tamil cinema such as director Mohan Raja, editor Mohan, producer PL Thenappan, actor Sathish, director Vijay Milton, director Thirukumaran, and director Bakyaraj Kannan.
Raina, when questioned regarding ex-team member MS Dhoni potentially joining the cast of the event, replied, “He should answer that one!”.
Director Logan, while commenting on the film stated, “It’s a dream to start my debut as a director with such a great team and the support of Dream Knight Stories. With artistes like Santhosh Narayanan and Resul Pookutty coming aboard, we are aiming to create something really special.”Further details of ‘Production No 1′ and Dream Knight Stories’ future projects will be officially released within the next few weeks.
