Sumbul Touqeer rose to fame from the show Imlie. She became a household name after her performance was loved by netizens. The actress is quite on social media and she regularly posts videos and pictures. However, she was trolled for her recent weight gain and she did not take much time for slamming them.
Sumbul took to her Instagram handle and shared a note which read, “Been reading many comments and tweets of a few victoria’s secret’s models about by weight and appearance. And I can say that I’ve never been more mad in my life. I am literally very politely asking you to stop and let me live my life in peace. If you think I am ruining my life, let me. I know what I’m doing and I’m tired now”.
The statement further read, “Ps – reason of my sudden weight gain was medication prescribed by a neurologist and a psychiatrist which did not suit me. SHUT UP NOW!!!!!!” Celebrities no matter what are always constant scrutiny whenever they post anything on social media.
Sumbul Touqeer is best known for her portrayal of Imlie Chaturvedi Rathore in Imlie and as IAS Kavya Bansal Pradhan in Kavya-Ek Jazba, Ek Junoon. She began her acting career with supporting roles as a child in Har Mushkil Ka Hal Akbar Birbal on Big Magic and Jodha Akbar on Zee TV in 2014. She has also been part of several shows including Gangaa, Waaris, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, Dil Hi Toh Hai, Chandragupta Maurya, Jodha Akbar, Baalveer and Dil Hi Toh Hai among others.
Sumbul has also participated in Colors TV’s reality TV show Bigg Boss 16. She has received a nomination for Indian Television Academy Award and Indian Telly Awards for her performances.
