NEW DELHI: Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta has publicly criticised the third umpire following a controversial decision during her team’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 loss to Delhi Capitals. The incident occurred in the 15th over of Punjab’s batting innings, when Shashank Singh appeared to have struck a six off Mohit Sharma’s delivery. Despite his signal, the third umpire adjudged that Nair’s foot had not touched the boundary and deemed the effort clean, denying Punjab Kings five crucial runs.Who’s that IPL player?Zinta, furious with the verdict, took to social media platform X to express her frustration. “In such a high-profile tournament with so much technology at the third umpire’s disposal, such mistakes are unacceptable & simply shouldn’t happen.
